Center on Disability

The Center on Disability at the Public Health Institute is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities with a focus on disability policy, civil rights, disability law, employment, health issues, independent living, and assistive technology. The Center on Disability is composed of disability-related projects with expertise in research, technical assistance, training and information dissemination.

Projects

Annual Evaluation of the Family Center on Technology and Disability Evaluation

This project will conduct an annual formative evaluation of the Family Center on Technology and Disability activities, which will include designing an evaluation tool, gathering data and preparing evaluation report.

National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability

The Center on Disability is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other partners on a National Public Health Practice and Resource Center on Health Promotion, Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Obesity for People with Disabilities. The center is developing policy language along with a toolkit and guidelines for policy creation that are designed to ensure that people with disabilities are included in prevention efforts.
