Turning great ideas into healthier communities

Faces for the Future Launches "I Am the Future"

March 15, 2017

PHI's FACES for the Future Coalition supports a collaborative of national programs, all based upon the FACES model, which work to address health equity for all communities through the training and empowerment of young people. FACES for the Future is a comprehensive approach to student learning and well-being.  Focused on transitioning youth into the health professions, FACES programs create tomorrow’s health leaders by offering health career exploration, academic support, psycho-social intervention and youth leadership development.

  • 100% of students enrolled in FACES programs throughout the state have graduated from high school.

  • More than 90% of students intended to pursue a career in the health professions at the time of graduation.

  • More than 90% of FACES students continue directly into a post-secondary pathway, including college, certification programs or employment.

Since 2000, FACES for the Future has served over 1,800 students all over California and is working on expanding nationally. They have some of the most diverse group of students, coming from different backgrounds and challenges. They are also some of the most resilient and passionate.

This week they launched “I Am the Future,” an on-going online campaign that showcases the many faces and voices of FACES students: their stories, their motivations and why they are the future faces in health care.

The campaign itself consists of student photographs and quotes, which will be released on a weekly basis. Stay up to date on students’ stories by following FACES on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
