The Governance Institute & PHI Invite Healthcare Leaders and Board Members to Participate in Free Program

November 3, 2015 (San Diego, CA) – The Governance Institute, in partnership with Stakeholder Health, and the Public Health Institute (PHI), and with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is offering the first in a series of intensive training retreats for senior leaders and board members of hospitals and health systems. The Alignment of Governance and Leadership in Healthcare: Building Momentum for Transformation program will focus on building knowledge and understanding of population health concepts and strategies for alignment with a broad spectrum of stakeholders. This program is being offered at no cost to participants and is open to any healthcare delivery organization wishing to participate.

The first training retreat will be held February 20-21 in Boca Raton, Florida, immediately preceding the Governance Institute’s February Leadership Conference. Each participant organization must include at least one senior executive leader (CEO, CNO, CFM, CMO, or EVP) and at least three board members from individual hospitals and/or at the health system level. A complimentary pass to the leadership conference is included with attendance to the program. To learn more about becoming a participant, contact Zach Griffin, General Manager of The Governance Institute, at zgriffin@governanceinstitute.com.

“This program will be a game-changer for organizations to execute against their population health and community benefit strategies,” said Griffin. “Board members and senior executives are crucial for guiding strategies around important decision-making at their organizations and the communities they serve, and these collaborative retreats provide an ideal opportunity to focus on initiatives that drive towards our end goals in healthcare leadership—keeping our communities healthy while simultaneously keeping our care delivery organizations viable.”

The strategy will be developed through cohorts, each consisting of intensive collaborative retreats, webinars, and one-on-one coaching. Dr. Kevin Barnett, Senior Investigator of PHI and community benefit expert, will lead this strategic program and will be joined by a distinguished group of faculty.
