California HealthCare Foundation Pilot County Data Storytelling Tool
HealthData+ is a dynamic partnership between PHI and LiveStories, a data platform that makes it easy to visualize, discuss, and present data. HealthData+ provides consultation and support to help stakeholders use data more effectively, tell their stories, shape local policy, and strengthen the public’s health. The HealthData+ team are winners of the 2015 Obesity Data Challenge sponsored by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Health Data Consortium, and the de Beaumont Foundation.
The idea for focusing on data communication through HealthData+ was conceptualized by and initiated through the California HealthCare Foundation, with funding to PHI and partners to develop the California pilot. HealthData+ is designed to help health departments and other local health policymakers combine data and stories in ways that engage audiences to drive decision making, strengthen policy and improve health.
