T. Anne Richards, MA

T. Anne Richards is the principal investigator and co-director of an Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services Innovation Project, An SRO Culture of Inclusion. The project is aimed at reducing social isolation among people with severe mental illness living in a single room occupancy (SRO) hotel in Oakland. 

Richards has worked in behavioral medicine and public health since 1989 and is retired from the University of California, San Francisco and Berkeley.  She is an interdisciplinary social scientist in anthropology and psychology, earning her master’s degree at San Francisco State University.  Her expertise is in the integration of qualitative and quantitative methods in research, and the use of ethnography in community and program assessments.
