Parents in Action! Training Curriculum Evaluation

Parents can play a role in developing and ensuring the full implementation of their local school wellness policies (LSWP). Yet, for the most part, building the capacity of parents and community leaders on how to support other parents in LSWP development and implementation is a promising strategy that has not been adequately pursued, especially in culturally diverse communities.
PHI's California Project LEAN (Leaders Encouraging Activity and Nutrition) developed the Parents in Action! Toolkit and training to strengthen parents' and community leaders' capacity to engage in developing and implementing their LSWP. This report highlights key lessons learned from piloting the training with four organizations with a mission focused on working with parents.
