Biography

Elizabeth O'Connor is principal investigator for the Children's Oncology Group (COG) Coordinating Center project and chief operating officer (COO) for COG. The COG is the world's largest organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research and is composed of more than 200 leading children's hospitals across North America, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Europe. The COG designs and conducts clinical trials for children with cancer that build on an increasing understanding of the molecular basis for pediatric malignancies and have the highest potential to improve the outcome. The COG also conducts research trials focused on improving quality of life for children with cancer and survivors.

O'Connor began working in the COG Coordinating Center in 1999 and became COO in 2011. She received her master's degree in public health from the University of California, Los Angeles.
