Birthing Cultural Rigor, LLC is a Black woman owned and led quality improvement and implementation science firm that formed as a living act of resistance against knowledge production and dissemination that reproduced racist and misogynistic misconceptions about Blackness, Black womanhood, and Black birthing people that undermined our humanity and justice in traditional quality improvement and implementation science.  Through authentic partnerships with patient experts, community leaders, health systems, tech companies, and funders, Birthing Cultural Rigor, LLC creates institutional alignment and accountability to population expectations, priorities, abilities and experiences of Black women, girls, and gender expansive people during health care services design, provision, utilization, evaluation, and training.

Breakthrough Infection Study of Over 600,000 Veterans Shows Declining COVID-19 Vaccine Protection

A new pre-print study of over 600,000 veterans by researchers from PHI and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center finds that overall COVID-19 vaccine protection declined significantly between February and August 2021. Declines were greatest for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (from 88% in March to 3% in August), followed by PfizerBioNTech (91% to 50%) and Moderna (92% to 64%).
