Connie Chan Robison, MPH

Connie Chan Robison is the Executive Director of the Center for Collaborative Planning, a center of the Public Health Institute whose mission is to grow the capacity of communities to shape, influence, and lead social change. Connie guides the Center’s organizational and programmatic priorities including its training and technical assistance programs, leadership development initiatives, and community building efforts. The Center’s current partnership with Sacramento County Alcohol and Drug Services to implement the Youth Engaged in Action (YEA) and Families and Communities Together (Families ACT) programs seeks to prevent underage drinking through community education and youth and parent engagement in policy and environmental change work.

CCP also serves in an intermediary capacity on several community change initiatives to engage stakeholders in capacity building, convening, and peer learning. As Project Manager for The California Wellness Foundation’s Women’s Initiatives focused on HIV-AIDS-STIs and Re-entry populations, the Center supports development and implementation strategies to achieve the gender equity goals and outcomes of both initiatives. CCP’s partnership with the Blue Shield of California Foundation engages the organization’s convening and peer learning capacities to support resource sharing and distance learning across funded grantees of the Foundation’s Advancing Behavioral Health Integration initiative. Both efforts demand the ability to manage the dynamic interactions across people, relationships, and place on complex issues.

Connie chairs the Steering Committee of the Healthy Sacramento Coalition, a county-wide effort originally launched as part of CDC’s Community Transformation Grants to address chronic disease prevention and health disparities. She also serves as co-chair of the Office of Minority Health’s National Partnerships for Action to End Health Disparities’ Regional Health Equity Council (RHEC) for Region IX.

Connie graduated from the University of California at Davis with degrees in Biological Sciences and Political Science and received her Master’s Degree in Public Health from San Jose State University. She’s a proud parent of three young adults and in her spare moments enjoys hiking, reading, 70’s music, and quality time with family and friends.
