Biography

Cynthia D. Rohrer (she) works to disrupt stigma and increase equitable access to care in sexual, reproductive, and LGBTQIA+ health. She directs PHI/Bridge’s Emergency Department Syphilis/HIV/HCV Screening Program (EDSP). Cynthia leads EDSP’s syndemic approach in partnership with the California Department of Public Health and Los Angeles County Division of HIV and STD Prevention to support emergency department opt-out screening programs statewide to provide equitable low-barrier testing, treatment, and peer navigator-led linkage to care and essential services.

Cynthia has over 16 years of direct service and leadership in safety net care. At Planned Parenthood she grew from a community health educator and clinic assistant to director of patient follow-up for 20 Northern California clinics.
