In the United States, millions of women live in contraception and reproductive healthcare deserts, exacerbated by the alarming restrictions on reproductive rights. Access Bridge, a project of PHI’s Bridge, works to improve access to sexual and reproductive health services, including miscarriage management, by integrating them into emergency departments (EDs), which are open 24/7 and available in most communities. Access Bridge’s goal is to increase health equity by building the capacity of America’s EDs to serve as reproductive health safety nets, focusing on communities with limited access.

In 2023, Access Bridge launched a fellowship with 22 clinicians working in 19 hospitals across 13 states, including Florida, Indiana, Ohio and Texas—providing fellows with tools to implement core reproductive health services in their EDs. This webinar will share updates and lessons-learned from the first six months of the program, with insights on how to build ED capacity to serve as reproductive health safety nets.
