Helping California Advocates Implement ACA and Reach Vulnerable Communities

Image for Helping California Advocates Implement ACA and Reach Vulnerable Communities

In 2014, PHI’s Center for Collaborative Planning hosted a one-day convening for California Wellness Foundation grantees working to implement of the Affordable Care Act (ACA)—bringing together over 70 participants to discuss best practices in outreach and enrollment of eligible populations for health insurance coverage under the new law. The convening created a safe place for organizations to lift up challenges, explore unique partnerships, and share strategies to ensure health care coverage for California’s most vulnerable communities. The Center for Collaborative Planning also piloted an online resource repository to support information-sharing across grantees, creating an accessible space for participants and others to continue the conversation and share additional learnings throughout their work.
