Bridging Regional Food Systems and Healthcare report coverSince 2020, Roots of Change and the Center for Wellness and Nutrition, both programs of the Public Health Institute, have co-led several food security and nutrition improvement initiatives in Southern California. This white paper underscores how healthcare, public health and local food systems must be more closely aligned to improve nutrition security in the face of increasing disruptions. Written for communities and policy makers alike, this report provides key lessons learned, actionable strategies and model policies for transforming food systems and enacting long-term community resilience.
