As public health faces unprecedented challenges in an evolving landscape, nonprofit executives and philanthropic funders are looking beyond traditional funding cycles in order to achieve lasting impact on health. In an op-ed published in Nonprofit Quarterly, Elizabeth Keating, MPA, Clinical Program Director and Principal Investigator at the Public Health Institute’s Bridge program, and Jenny Shapiro, MPH, Health Equity Senior Program Manager at the Clinton Global Initiative, make the case for how public health leaders can support implementation through intentional and sustainable design.

Nonprofit Quarterly

Among their recommendations for public health programs and funders alike, Keating and Shapiro highlight evidence-based models like the changemaking framework, developed by Bridge, for implementation during times of instability. This model supports strategic efforts that address gaps in healthcare access directly, while building critical infrastructure for lasting and equitable impact that improves health.
