Survey on Healthcare for People with Disabilities and Family Members
The Public Health Institute (PHI) is doing a study to learn more about how people with intellectual and developmental disabilities feel about their health care and the doctors or nurses who help them.
- Intellectual or cognitive disability (a disability that impacts how you learn and understand)
- Developmental disability (a disability you were born with or that occurred before the age of 22)
This information will be used to create a tool for doctors and nurses to check how inclusive and helpful their services and offices are for people with disabilities.
The official close date is Dec 13, so please take the survey today!
There are two different surveys available: one for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and one for family members or caregivers:

El Instituto de Salud Pública (PHI, por sus siglas en inglés) está realizando un estudio para aprender más sobre cómo las personas con discapacidades intelectuales y del desarrollo se sienten acerca de su atención médica y los doctores o enfermeros/as que les ayudan. Esta información se utilizará para crear una herramienta que permita a los doctores y enfermeros/as evaluar qué tan inclusivos y útiles son sus servicios y oficinas para personas con discapacidades.
- Discapacidad intelectual o cognitiva: una discapacidad que afecta la forma en que aprende y comprende.
- Discapacidad del desarrollo: una discapacidad con la que nació o que ocurrió antes de los 22 años.

The Center on Disability at the Public Health Institute is working on a project to help medical providers become more inclusive and accessible for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for caregivers willing to participate in a one-hour virtual focus group to give us their perspectives on their experiences with their loved one’s medical provider. There are three options to share your feedback:
- December 10, 8am PT/11am ET
- December 10, 3:30pm PT/6:30pm ET
- December 16, 12pm PT/3pm ET
