Biography

Heather Mosher, Ph.D. is the founding director of the Youth Action Hub, a participatory action research hub and network driven by young people with lived expertise of housing instability. Her work advances housing, health and wealth equity through participatory action research led by marginalized and underserved communities and cross-sector system stakeholders to change policies and practice that contribute to inequities. She brings over 15 years of experience in mixed methods research (quantitative, qualitative, and arts-based), longitudinal studies, systems science research, and participatory methodologies to engage communities in critically examining and addressing health and housing inequities. She has served as principal investigator or investigator on more than thirteen research grants funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, Connecticut Department of Housing, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and numerous foundations. Her major areas of research include youth homelessness, health equity, housing, mental health, service access/utilization and HIV risk, and resilience. Dr. Mosher earned her doctorate in systems science and applied community psychology from Portland State University. She lives in Portland, OR.
