The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the United States, and in the Bay Area and beyond the consequences have been especially tragic for low-income communities and communities of color.  A series of digital events marked the 50th anniversary of Earth Day for “Earth Day Live 2020.” For the Earth Day events, Sunrise Bay Area spoke to health professionals and experts on the state of public health in the U.S. and the Bay Area, including Dr. Linda Rudolph, Director of the Center for Climate Change and Health at the Public Health Institute, discussing how the Green New Deal can move us towards a more equitable and resilient public health system.
