Dr. Mohammad Sediq Hazratzai, Executive Director for the Public Health Institute’s Center for Immigrant and Refugee Health (CIRH), has received the Ulysses Medal. The medal recognizes leaders whose work meaningfully advances the health and well-being of refugee and immigrant communities. The award is presented by the Ulysses Center for Refugee Studies at the University of California Davis School of Medicine.
Dr. Hazratzai established CIRH to address the humanitarian and healthcare needs of refugees in California and across the United States. Under his leadership, the Center has expanded culturally responsive services and fostered collaborations that improve access to care and address the unique needs of diverse communities.
Dr. Hazratzai’s visionary leadership alongside the collective efforts of the CIRH team, partners and communities advancing the health of refugees and immigrants has earned him this recognition.
