Health Intervention Projects for Underserved Populations
Evidence-based practices (EBP) are vital in effective mental health care, yet many are developed with inclusion of the cultural needs of Asian American and Asian Immigrant (AAAI) communities. Developed by The Lotus Project, an initiative of the Public Health Institute’s Health Intervention Projects for Underserved Populations program, this resource guide provides practical and widely-used EBP adaptations and recommendations for working through community-based practices to support healing, well-being and equitable mental health care for AAAI communities.
This guide is intended for mental health providers, educators, community workers, service providers and others working with AAAI populations. The guide offers practical strategies for implementing culturally responsive mental health practices across settings including community-based organizations, schools and healthcare facilities.
